SMS will not work for NPIV devices on a new build.
Activate your partition profile to an Open Firmware Prompt.
At that prompt enter ioinfo
then select fcinfo , then one of your adapters. This will turn that port on
so that you can see it at the switch. do your zoning , then do the same for
your second adapter , if you have one
On the HMC select “Virtual Adapters” -> “Actions” -> “Advanced” -> “Login Logout Fibre Channel”.
There you can login all WWPNs, even the second WWPN, that is only used after a LPM.
