The last maintenance for the long term support release Debian 8.11 (Jessie) has been released. Debian 8.11 release mainly adds corrections for security issues, along with a few adjustments for serious problems.

Debian 8 (Jessie) is expected to reach end of life by June 30, 2020 as per the long term support program and it could be support by the extended long term support program for commercial usage.

New installation images will be available soon at the regular locations.

Upgrading an existing installation to this revision can be achieved by pointing the package management system at one of Debian’s many HTTP mirrors. A comprehensive list of mirrors is available at:

Debian 10.0 “Buster” meanwhile is expected to be released approximately one year from now.
